Karapuzha Dam

The Karapuzha Reservoir is the largest of its kind in India. This earth dam is built across the Karapuzha river and stands tall at 28 meters along a length of 625 meters. This whopping reservoir attracts tourists all year round, especially for a fun boating experience amidst the calm waters of the dam. 

Kanthanpara Waterfalls

A stunning waterfall located in Kalpetta with tranquil surroundings. Offering wonderful views of greenery all around, Kanthanpara Waterfalls is 30 ft high and is easily accessible from the roads. There is almost no tourist rush, and it is perfect for the tourists travelling with kids or elderly people. The nature all around is beautiful, and one can feel rejuvenated with the minute water droplets falling on the face.

En Uru, Kerala’s first tribal heritage village

`En Uru', the tribal heritage village at Pookode in Kerala's Wayanad district, showcases the rich culture of the tribal communities. The unique village boasts of a cafeteria that serves traditional tribal dishes and a tribal market, among others. The hamlet, established on 25 acres of land of the Mananthavady Tea Plantation Corporation (Priryadarshini), is the face of Wayanad tourism. The main aim of the centre is to given an opportunity to the visitors get up close to the heritage and culture of the tribal people. The 'En Uru' project is totally controlled by the tribal communities. 

Kuruvadweep

Kuruvadweep or Kuruva Island comprises of a cluster of islets over the middle of Kabini River in Wayanad that is popular for the boat rides it offers on specially crafted bamboo rafts. Spread over 950 acres of land, Kuruva Island, is popular for its diverse flora and fauna. These islands contain two small fresh water lakes. They are also a known safe haven for migratory birds along with hornbills, parrots and many butterfly species.

Edakkal Cave

Edakkal is the only known place in India with Stone Age carvings. You can see here carvings belonging to Neolithic and Mesolithic age. The human figures of these caves have raised hair and some have masks. They all have archeological significance and are interesting too.Along with these pictorial carvings, you can also watch Tamil and Brahmi Script in Edakkal caves.

Meenmutty Waterfalls

Accessible via a jungle trek route of 2 KM, Meenmutty Waterfalls is the best one in the region. The trekking starts on the Ooty road in Wayanad and becomes tricky and slippery in rains. The milky-white water jets fall down from a height of more than 1000 ft. There are separate viewing decks for the three tiers of the waterfalls. Located in a secluded spot the Meenmutty waterfall is an ethereal sight that soothes your nerves and senses and fills your heart with exhilaration.

Neelimala Viewpoint

Neelimala Viewpoint offers a stunning view of the lush green natural vegetation and the breathtaking Meenmutti waterfalls. The serene atmosphere and the sounds of the birds chirping amidst the whispering leaves will put one at ease instantly. Trekking through the exciting misty trails and soaking in the fresh air to reach the point is a famous activity here.

Chooralmala Waterfalls

Chooralmala is a small village and hillstation in wayanad district of Kerala. Lots of tourist spots are available in Chooralmala, but most of the tourists have seen only soochippara waterfalls. Some hidden gems in Chooralmala are Vellolippara, Seetha Lake, Vattappara, HollyWood valley and Apsara waterfall. All these places are in 6 kilometer surrounding and the soochippara is near another hot tourism spot in this village. 

Sunrise Valley Viewpoint

Sun Rise Valley Viewpoint in Wayanad District of Kerala State in Southern India is one of the most scenic places in Wayanad. What makes the viewpoint unique in the district is it's rocky projection which protrudes out to the void making it an adventure pinnacle for adrenaline junkies, although comes with the catch of falling down to the rocks and the forest deep down upon a misstep. As the name suggests, Sun Rise Valley View Point is ideal to visit in the early mornings. The majestic rays of the sun shattering the darkness of the valley covered in thick forests and the river Chaliyar cutting the valley to three large blocks is a spectacular view to behold.

Ambalavayal Heritage Museum

Ambalavayal Heritage Museum, also known as Wayanad Heritage Museum is an archaeological museum at Amabalayal in Wayanad district of Kerala state in Southern india. It houses one of the Kerala’s largest collection of the remnants of an age dating back to the 2nd century, representing the civilisation that existed in the forests of Wayanad.

Cheengeri Rock Adventure

Cheengeri Hill, located in the Ambalavayal Panchayath of the Sultan Bathery constituency, is one of the important trekking destinations in Wayanad. Cheengeri hills are located about 2600 m above sea level. Breathtaking views of Karappuzha Dam catchment area, Ambukuthimala, Manjamala can be enjoyed. Cheengeri Hill Rock Adventure Center is ideally located close to Karappuzha Dam, Edakkal Cave, Ambalavayal Agricultural Research Station and Ambalavayal Heritage Museum.

Lakkidi Viewpoint

Lakkidi Viewpoint is a high altitude offering a bird's eye view of the city. Located 32 kilometres from Wayanad, at an elevation of 700 mts, the region mostly stays misty and offers a beautiful view of the hairpin turns down the hill. The thrill of driving up to the point is an experience in itself. One should visit Lakkidi View Point for sunrise and sunset to get the best views. The viewpoint is also a popular picnic spot which is often referred to as the 'Gateway to Wayanad'.

Soochipara Falls

Also known as Sentinel Rock Waterfalls, Soochipara Falls is a three-tiered waterfall situated in Vellarimala, Wayanad. Surrounded by deciduous, evergreen and montane forests, this waterfall is regarded as one of the best waterfalls. The drive from Meppadi to Sentinel Rock Waterfalls provides visitors with scenic views of some of the best tea estates in Wayanad.

Priyadarshini Tea

Priyadarshini Tea Environs Priyadarshini Tea Environs is a tea estate, tea factory, tea museum, forest reserve and tourist resort all rolled into one thrilling package. The Vishwas Point Trek, which takes you to the highest point in Priyadarshini, is a popular trekking route. Camping trips can also be arranged here. Priyadarshini also has a natural pond, amphitheater and herb gardens. Organic farm produce is available at Priyadarshini’s poly houses. Tree houses and other accommodation options are also available, along with ethnic delicacies prepared by the friendly natives.
